ANGEL STACY

I have never been much one for sweets and rarely have them in the house but last week on an Avatar Course, one of my students brought some wonderful shortbread cookies for the group to share. While eating one, I remembered how lovely it can be to have just a bit of that sweet buttery taste in my mouth after a meal.

The next day, for lunch, I finished eating a leftover curry dish and thought how great it would be to again have just one of those shortbread cookies to add a finishing touch to my meal.

As I thought of the cookies, I also remembered a local Hawaiian gourmet cookie store which sold coconut shortbread cookies and how, in the past, I had eaten one of their cookies while visiting the village with friends from off island.

I could almost taste those delicious coconut shortbread cookies melting in my mouth! With all this thought of cookies, my desire was running high!

About two hours later, my massage therapist arrived. Each week this absolute angel of a woman named Stacy, drives an hour and a half from the south end of the island to tend my body and share her love through her healing touch. She sets up her table on my lanai so that we can both enjoy being at the ocean's edge while in that space of grace.

Toward the end of my massage, Stacy asked me if I was taking any snacks along with me on my trip to India next week. She suggested I take dried fruits, nuts, local goodies and water on my journey as the air travel alone will be a 3 day trek.

As evening was about to settle in and the sun set on the horizon, my massage came to completion. I sat up from the table and Stacy handed me a brightly colored red foil bag with a hula girl on it. She said that she had a wonderful neighbor, at South Point, who shared her love through her baking and that her treasure was inside.

As I gazed at the beautiful red bag, gratitude filled my being. This woman who gave me so much was giving even more. Just then my angel Stacy spoke and said, "I brought those to you as a gift to take with you on your journey. They are coconut shortbread cookies and I thought that you would like them."
